Bulls Head Coaching Search Update

AMARILLO, TX – The search continues for a new Amarillo Bulls Head Coach and the decision is hopeful within the next week.

The new coach will usher in a new era in Bulls hockey history, taking over for Dennis Williams who will be behind the bench of the expansion Bloomington Thunder of the United States Hockey League, this fall.

CSH International Inc President Gary Gelinas said they had over 60 applicants with many having Head Coaching roles at a variety of levels, including college.

“I will make the final decision after consulting with the committee and our goal is to have a person hired within the next week,” Gelinas said. “The quality was tremendous which indicated this was a coaching role that was in high demand.”

Gelinas said they formed a three person hiring committee that came up with a short list of candidates.

“We asked the candidates to fill out questionnaires to identify their strengths and suitability to the program that Coach Dennis Williams has created,” he added. “Coach Williams was part of the hiring committee as we want to make sure the program moves forward not backwards. He has set the bar very high and the next coach has to be able to meet that expectation.

“We are very excited about the group we have interviewed, and based on the quality of the applicants the process will not be easy.”
