It was a great start to the game for the Amarillo Bulls, but they couldn’t keep up the pace and dropped a 6-2 decision to the Topeka RoadRunners on Halloween Night. Joey DiBenedetto and AJ Duggan scored to put the homeside ahead 2-0. The RoadRunners rallied with four goals in the second period including two 18 seconds apart to snap a 2-2 tie. Sly Sutter, Mike Gornall, Jasen Fernsler, Sam Rennaker, Cam Strong and Willie Brown tallied for Topeka as Drew Vogler won only his second career game against Amarillo. The RoadRunners outshot the Bulls 25-17 over the final 40 minutes.
It was Topeka’s 14th win of the season and it pushed their South Division lead to 11 points over second place Wichita Falls Wildcats.
Tonight signifies the fial game of the seven game extended home stand for the Amarillo Bulls. During the swing the Bulls are 3-3 including victories in three of their last five outings. The Bulls road swing which will keep the team close to home in November features trips to Wichita Falls for three straight games starting next weekend and to Lone Star to close the month out. Sandwiched in the middle is a Bulls home stand on November 15 and 16 versus the Odessa Jackalopes.
