AMARILLO, TX – The Amarillo Bulls players have always been known to have good wheels on the ice and have the ability to outskate teams. The Bulls helped an organization (Wednesday) today who’s goal is to provide wheels and transportation to those less fortunate in the community.
Assistant Coach Austin Sutter as well as several Bulls players were on hand to give Wheels to Prosper a check for $1,000. The money was raised through a draw with help from Amarillo Community Federal Credit Union, and Seven Bar and Grill. Players sold tickets with fans having a chance to win dinner with the coaching staff as well as a beautiful handmade quilt from Season Ticketholder Ann Taylor.
“Lynda and Robert Archer of Aardvark Automotive have been tremendous supporters of Bulls Hockey,” said Sutter. “As our partnership has developed, their passion for helping the community has been obvious. We decided there were no better people to help in their efforts than to provide vehicle for a family in need.”
Lynda Archer was pleased to receive the money from team and said it will go help refurbish a vehicle that will be presented to a family near the end of July.
The Wheels to Prosper initiative awards a worthy and deserving person from the community a car that has been fully serviced and in good working condition. The selection is made from recommendations and nominations from people in the community of those who continuously contribute and give back to others in their community.
The Amarillo Bulls have been one of the leading teams in giving back to their community in the North American Hockey League. Each of the last three years, the Bulls have been rewarded with the NAHL Community Service Award where players have been recognized for their hard work and donating time and efforts in the Texas Panhandle.
