AMARILLO, TX – It was another great weekend for Amarillo Bulls Alumni notching 22 points (5 goals and 17 assists) in NCAA Division I and Division III action.
Forward TJ Sarcona fired his ninth goal of the season as Niagara University settled for a 4-4 tie with Canisius College. The following night Niagara doubled Canisius College 4-2. Cody Freeman and Geoff Fortman provided assists in both losses for Canisius College. It was Freeman’s 12th assist, while Fortman notched his third point.
Joe Kozlak had a goal and an assist for Army in its two games against American International. Kozlak earned an assist in a 2-1 loss on the first night. He followed that up with a goal in a 5-4 overtime loss. Clint Carlisle and Luke Jenkins also picked up assists in that game.
Robert Morris picked up three out of a possible four points against RIT. Greg Gibson was a factor scoring in each game and providing an assist for the Colonials. He now has seven goals this season.
Ricky DeRosa scored a goal and set up another as Penn State blanked Michigan 4-0 for their first Big 10 of the season. DeRosa had an assist the night prior as the Nittany Lions fell 7-3 to Ohio State University. DeRosa is tied for fourth on the team in scoring with 11 points.
John Gustafsson set up the lone Merrimack College marker as they fell to Boston College 6-1.
In Division III play, forward Mike Erickson had a great game setting up two goals as St. Olaf beat Concordia 5-4 in OT. Blake roubos provided an assist on the first Lawrence University goal as they settled for a 2-2 tie with Adrian.
Gage Christianson had a three assist weekend for the Milwaukee School of Engineering in their two losses to Lake Forest. On the first night, Christianson assisted on both MSOE goals and then added his third assist of the weekend on the next night. Christianson leads his team with three goals and 11 assists for 14 points.
St. John’s edged Hamline 3-2 in overtime as Dan McNamara assisted on one of the Johnnies’ goals.
Trinity College is now ranked 10th in Division III this week. Ryan Cole, who is fourth in the nation in scoring, got his 22nd assist of the season for Trinity as they beat Middlebury 5-3.
The current Amarillo Bulls hit the ice this weekend for a pair of games against the Lone Star Brahmas on Friday and Saturday at 7 pm at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center. It’s Parents Weekend and the Bulls are also wearing special jerseys in support of Texas Panhandle Pet Savers. An auction will follow immediately after Saturday’s game.
