Bulls Alumni Notebook-Roubos Receives An Award

AMARILLO, TX – An Amarillo Bulls Alumni has been named to the NCHA All-Freshman Team.

Blake Roubos who has completed his first season at Lawrence University was named to the team. In his first season with Lawrence University, Roubos led the team in scoring with 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points. He had two game winning markers and three more on the power play.

Lawrence University was eliminated from NCAA Division III post season play by St. Norbert at the NCHA Tournament.

Two teams featuring Amarillo Bulls Alumni are still alive in their respective conference tournaments. St. Scholastica featuring Derek Hills will face St. Norbert in the NCHA championship. Trinity College will face Bowdoin in the NESCAC Tournament Semi-Finals. Trinity advanced in play blasting Wesleyan 9-1 as Ryan Cole, who is among the leaders in scoring in the nation, had two helpers for Trinity, while TJ Sherman set up one goal.

In Division I, Army posted a 5-2 victory over Holy Cross this past Friday night thanks to two goals from Joe Kozlak and an assist by Clint Carisle. In the second game Karl Beckman had an assist as the Crusaders blanked Army 2-0.

Greg Gibson notched two goals and an assist as Robert Morris rallied to tie Mercyhurst 5-5. The next night, John Rey earned an assist for Robert Morris in a 5-2 setback.

Tyler Deresky assisted on the second Bentley goal as they beat American International 4-1. Hampus Gustafsson also got into the assist parade as he set up one of the Merrimack goals in a 5-2 loss to New Hampshire.

The current Amarillo Bulls hit the ice for a pair of games over the weekend. It’s the Bulls and the Topeka RoadRunners on Friday and Saturday at 7 pm at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center.

Friday marks the return of the Family Four Pack and Bring a Buddy Pack. For $39 fans get four tickets, four hotdogs and four sodas, while for $20 it’s two tickets, two hotdogs and two sodas. It’s also College Night where students can get itickets for $5 when they show a valid College ID.

Saturday is Unique Individuals Night and the first 500 children get a free Bulls’ lunch bag. It’s also Kids Appreciation Night and for every adult ticket purchased, children can get a free ticket.
