Amarillo Visits Wichita Falls Tonight

Amarillo, TX – The Amarillo Bulls embark on their first South Division road trip of the young season when they visit the Wichita Falls Wildcats for a pair of games this weekend. The two teams will meet for the first time tonight (Friday) and again tomorrow night (Saturday) at 7:15 pm at Kay Yeager Coliseum.

The Bulls and the Wildcats met for a pair of pre-season games back in early September where each team collected one win.

Amarillo is coming off a 5-1 win over the Odessa Jackalopes in its home opener last Saturday night, while Wichita Falls also played just one game, falling to the Texas Tornado 4-1. The Bulls and the Wildcats are tied for third place in the South Division standings with three wins and seven points each.

It is a contrasting start to season for both teams when it comes to building momentum in games. After a slow start in the first period, the Bulls have out-scored their opponents 14-6. The Wildcats have outscored their opponents 8-3 in the first but after that the tables have turned. Wichita Falls has been outpointed 18-8 in the final 40 minutes.

The Bulls were 6-1-1 versus Wichita Falls last year, but one of those loses was at Kay Yeager Coliseum where the Wildcats were 14-14-2 overall. Amarillo has been a solid team away from home posting 24 wins in 2011-2012.

Fans can tune into the action live on ESPN1440 and www.amarillobulls.com, beginning with The Warm Up Show at 6:55 pm with Denis J. Puska. The puck drop is set for 7:15 pm. The game is also available on Pay Per View courtesy of Fast Hockey and a high speed internet connection is required in order to view the game.

Hockey returns to the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center next Thursday and Friday when the Bulls host the Odessa Jackalopes at 7 pm. Tickets for both games are available at the Bulls Office located at 301 South Polk or by calling 806-242-1122 and at the Civic Center Box Office.
