AMARILLO, TX – Hockey fans will get their first glimpse at the 2012-2013 Amarillo Bulls in just over two weeks.
That’s when the Amarillo Bulls will play a pair exhibition games against the Wichita Falls Wildcats on Thursday, Sept. 6 and Friday, Sept. 7 at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center. The face-off for both games is set for 7 pm.
Admission to the games is $5 when purchased in advance at the Amarillo Bulls Corporate Offices located at 301 South Polk in the Amarillo Building.
“I know they are going to be terrific games,” said Bulls Head Coach Dennis Williams. “Coach (Paul) Baxter in Wichita Falls will have a great team, and I know from playing them last year there were some exciting games between the two of us. I expect to get a lot of guys into the line-up and look at some different things.
“It’s great that we can play Wichita Falls and hammer out not only some of the good points, but the bad points that we have to work on before we head up to Blaine.”
The Bulls compiled a 22-4-4 record on home ice during the 2011-2012 season, and Williams said he is looking forward to his squad hitting the ice at the Amarillo Civic Center.
“We want to get off on the right foot to start the year and there is no better way than to play in front of our fans,” said Williams. “We’re excited to get the puck dropped and I am sure the players are too. I have coached in a bunch of different arenas in the league, and I have said this time-and-time again that Amarillo has some of the most loyal and supportive fans anywhere. They certainly give us home-ice advantage.”
After a weekend of meetings, Amarillo Bulls players began training camp off-ice workouts today (Monday) and will hit the ice for the first time later on this week.
