Alumni Notebook-Great Weekends for Bulls

 

AMARILLO, TX – Amarillo Bulls Alumni had several multi-point games in NCAA action this past weekend.

Tyler Deresky spoiled a great night for Alumni by scoring in overtime to lift Bentley past Army 5-4 on Saturday night. Joe Kozlak scored twice for West Point, while Clint Carlisle had one goal and two assists. The night prior, Deresky scored his first NCAA goal as Bentley notched a 6-1 win.

Forward Cody Freeman tallied for Canisius College in a 4-2 loss to Air Force. Brandon Lubin scored as American International held off Sacred Heart 7-6. Hampus Gustafsson provided an assist in Merrimack College’s 3-2 loss to Maine. On Friday night, Matt Johnson set up the third Lake Superior State goal as the Lakers beat Northern Michigan 5-3.

Ricky DeRosa scored one of his team’s goals as Penn State dropped a 3-2 shootout decision to Michigan State.

Over in Division III action, Blake Roubos, Ryan Cole, and Gage Christianson had excellent weekends with multi-point efforts for their schools. Blake Roubos earned an assist as Lawrence University dropped a 4-3 decision in OT to Finlandia. The Milwaukee School of Engineering got an assist from Gage Christianson and beat Concordia from Wisconsin 5-1. Cole scored twice and assisted on another as the Bantams edged Bowdoin 5-4 in overtime.

The next night Roubos figured in all four Lawrence goals scoring three and setting up the other in a 4-2 win over Finlandia. Christianson scored three of his team’s five goals and also provided an assist but Milwaukee School of Engineering fell 6-5 to Concordia. Cole had two assist in Trinity’s 4-2 win over Colby. His second assist set up his brother Brandon’s goal.

Dan McDougall scored twice and set up another to lead Neumann to an 8-1 win over Hobart. Dan McNamara’s two assists paced St. John’s past Bethel 3-1.

The Amarillo Bulls are back on the road this weekend with a pair of games against the Corpus Christi IceRays at American Bank Center. Fans can listen to the game live on CBS Sports Radio 1440, www.amarillobulls.com and on PPV courtesy of Fast Hockey beginning with the Wayland Baptist University Warm Up Show on Saturday at 6:45 pm and Sunday at 2:45 pm. The puck drop is 7 pm and 3 pm, respectively.

Hockey returns to the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center on Friday, Mar. 7 and Saturday, Mar. 8 when the Amarillo Bulls host the Topeka RoadRunners at 7 pm.
