Alumni Named All-Academic

REVISED – Geoff Fortman named one of six Atlantic Hockey Student Athletes of The Year

AMARILLO, TX – Editor’s note: There was one omission to the story, John Rey was listed as a member of Robert Morris University All Academic Hockey Team.

Amarillo Bulls alumni certainly have not only excelled on the ice but as well off the ice this past season in Atlantic Hockey Conference.

Defenseman Geoff Forman of Canisius College was named one of six Atlantic Hockey Student Athletes of the Year, while a total of 12 (Rvises number from 11 includes John Rey) Bulls Alumni were chosen All Academic for their respective teams. It was Fortman’s 2nd consecutive Student Athlete of the year honor.

To qualify for the Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team, an individual must post a 3.0 GPA or better in all academic semesters in which his team was actively competing.

Each of the Atlantic Hockey’s teams and schools chose their own All-Academic teams and they include Brandon Lubin of AIC; Luke Jenkins, Joe Kozlak and Brendan McGuire of Army West Point, Tyler Deresky from Bentley; Geoff Fortman of Canisius College; Karl Beckman and Paul Berrafato of Holy Cross; Brady Ferguson and Timmy Moore from Robert Morris University.
